Looking after your beard can feel like a chore at times but by following these simple tips you will be able to look smart and sophisticated in next to no time.
Trim your beard
Give your beard a regular trim to stop it becoming unruly. It can be simple to trim your beard by using a beard trimmer. This allows you to choose the length that you would like. It is easy to choose a thicker length and then go lower to the height of your hair if you choose to. You can also use a comb and scissors to help you trim your beard, although this is usually a little more time consuming. Always make sure your beard is dry when you trim it as wet hair is often longer. This will help you to avoid having a patchy or uneven beard once it has dried.
Keep your beard clean
Your beard should be treated the same as the hair on your head. You can wash and shampoo your beard as often as you wash your hair to keep it in fantastic condition. This allows you to wash out any beard wax or other cosmetic products that you may have used. Grizzly adam beard wash is perfect for this!
Once you have shampooed your beard you can finish off by using a conditioner. Ensure that you comb this through your beard, to avoid any knots, and then wash it out thoroughly using clean warm water. This will avoid any unsightly flakes from appearing in your beard once it dries out. To dry your beard you can pat it dry using a bath towel. It is not necessary to dry your hair with a hairdryer as this can lead to dry skin and poor hair growth.
Style your beard
You can use a small amount of beard oil or beard wax to style your beard. A little goes a long way with these products and you can also get scented and unscented, to suit your preferred style.
Your beard can be left a little unruly or you can use beard wax to smooth it into shape. If you have a goatee or even just a moustache you can use beard wax to give you more defined lines and a modern style.
Dye your beard
If you want to really make a statement then you can dye your beard. There are a wide variety of products available for dyeing your hair and there are even bright and bold colours such as red, blue and lurid green. Dyeing your hair can be a fantastic way to stand out from the crowd or even just to cover up a little grey hair. If you are going to dye your beard do ensure that you perform a discrete patch test at least 48 hours before dyeing and follow all instructions on the manufacturer’s information leaflet.
So if you’re thinking of growing a beard, then following these tips will ensure you have a well groomed and handsome beard that will not just enhance your appearance, but also attract admiring glances from everyone who looks at it.
